Originally called The Major BBS (or MajorBBS or just MBBS), Worldgroup is bulletin board software (BBS) developed between 1995 and 1999 by Galacticomm. It was bundled with a user client interface program named Worldgroup Manager for Microsoft Windows. Originally DOS-based, the last versions were available for Windows NT-based servers. Version 3.0 was released in 1997 which was the first 32-bit version of Worldgroup Server and was released for Windows NT. The DOS version was discontinued with version 3.1.

1995 : Worldgroup 1.0 — introduced Microsoft Windows client
1996 : Worldgroup 1.01 — maintenance release; first release compiled with Borland C++ V4.50
1996 : Worldgroup 2.0 — included plug-in for Netscape Navigator
1997 : Worldgroup 3.0 — first server version for 32-bit Windows NT
